Answers to the most common questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you're feeling overwhelmed, finding it difficult to navigate a season of life, or looking for support and a space to better understand yourself, therapy may be a good fit.

What if I'm not sure my concerns are "serious enough"?

You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come to therapy because they're navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, or want support working through what's on their mind. If something feels important to you, it's worth talking about.

Is teletherapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Yes. Research has shown that teletherapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns. Meeting virtually also allows you to attend sessions from the comfort and privacy of your own space, making therapy easier to fit into your schedule.

How do I schedule my first appointment?

Getting started is easy. You can schedule your first appointment online at a time that's convenient for you. Once you've scheduled, I'll be in touch with the next steps.

What can I expect in my first session?

It's completely normal to feel a little nervous before your first session. We'll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what's bringing you to therapy, and discussing what you hope to gain from our work together. There's no pressure to have everything figured out—we'll start where you are.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin by meeting once a week, which helps build consistency and momentum. As we work together, we can adjust the frequency based on your needs, goals, and schedule.

How much does therapy cost, and do you accept insurance?

I accept major insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Care Network, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Priority Health, and United Health Care (UBH).

If your insurance is not listed, self-pay options are available:

Initial evaluation: $210

Regular sessions: $185

Payments may be made via debit, credit card, FSA, and HSA accounts. A sliding-scale rate is available on a limited basis.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, you can do so through the client portal up to 24 hours before your appointment. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will be subject to a cancellation fee.

What if I need help now?

If you're experiencing a mental health crisis or believe you may be in immediate danger, please call or text 988, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also reach the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741. This practice is not able to provide emergency or crisis services.

When you're ready, I'm here.

Reaching out can be the hardest part. Whether you're looking for support, clarity, or simply someone to talk to, I'd be honored to be part of your journey.
